Colton, Soccer, and Senior Pictures: 5 Fun Facts
1. There are 32 panels on a traditional soccer ball, one for each country in Europe. And the country that we visited to do Colton’s senior photos was… Italy! Okay, not really, but this cool venue looks a little bit like it anyway!
2. Soccer was illegal in Mississippi until 1991. Good thing that Colton, an avid and very talented soccer player was born in Texas in 2000, right?!
3. The fastest goal in soccer history was scored just over 2 seconds after kick-off… which is just about how long it took me to realize that Colton, a 2018 senior from Plano Senior High, can always go into modeling if soccer doesn’t pan out for him. (GQ lately?!)
4. Of course soccer is probably one of the reasons that Colton stays in such great shape… okay that and youth and probably some good genetics… But did you know that a soccer player runs anywhere between 4 and 9.5 miles in a single GAME?!
5. Known as “soccer” in the US, the sport is known as “football” elsewhere. But the game’s original name was actually “basket-ball” because the first goals were overturned wicker baskets. Whatever the terminology (football, soccer ball, baskets, goal posts), Colton knows how to make it happen out there. And because of that, he will likely be playing soccer for the University of San Diego this time next year.

Best of luck to Colton #8 – thanks for a great session and… see you in the World Cup one day!
